Abstract Submission Deadline 21 November 2023
Manuscript Submission Deadline 20 March 2024

Nutrigenomics is an emerging field that sits at the cutting edge of genetics and nutrition, fundamentally transforming our comprehension of how dietary choices can significantly impact our health. With the global population steadily aging, age-related disorders have emerged as a prominent health concern. These disorders, spanning a wide spectrum from neurodegenerative conditions to cardiovascular diseases, present formidable challenges to healthcare systems and individuals alike. Recently, there has been a growing appreciation for the role of nutrition in influencing the onset and progression of these age-related maladies. Bioactive compounds found in diverse foods and dietary patterns have demonstrated their potential to modulate the risk and outcomes of these disorders. In this context, understanding the intricate interplay between bioactive components, nutrition, and an individual's genetic makeup, as unveiled by nutrigenomics, offers exciting prospects for tailoring dietary interventions to alleviate the impact of age-related disorders.

The goal of this special issue, "Unlocking the Nexus of Bioactive Components, Nutrition, and Nutrigenomics in Age-Related Disorders," is to delve deeply into the intricate relationship between diet, genetic factors, and the development and progression of age-related disorders. As the global population continues to age, the burden of these disorders on individuals and healthcare systems is intensifying. By harnessing the power of nutrigenomics, our goal is to unravel how specific dietary components interact with an individual's unique genetic makeup to either increase susceptibility to or offer protection against age-related ailments, including neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and metabolic syndromes. Through comprehensive genomic analyses, dietary assessments, and clinical investigations, we aim to identify key bioactive compounds and dietary patterns that can be leveraged for personalized nutritional strategies. Our ultimate objective is to pave the way for tailored dietary interventions that can mitigate the risk, slow the progression, or enhance the management of age-related disorders. By achieving this goal, we aspire to contribute to the promotion of healthy aging and improved quality of life for individuals worldwide.

The special issue on "Unlocking the Nexus of Bioactive Components, Nutrition, and Nutrigenomics in Age-Related Disorders," provides a multidisciplinary platform for scientists, clinicians, and researchers to explore the intricate connections between nutrition, genetics, and age-related diseases. We welcome original research, comprehensive reviews, meta-analyses, and innovative studies that investigate: Nutritional Interventions: Assessments of the impact of dietary components, patterns, and interventions on age-related disorders. Nutrigenomic Insights: Genomic investigations into how an individual's genetic makeup interacts with diet, affecting disease susceptibility and progression. Bioactive Compounds: Exploration of specific bioactive molecules and their mechanisms in influencing age-related ailments. Clinical Studies: Clinical trials and observational studies that shed light on the efficacy of personalized nutrition in age-related disorder management. Public Health Implications: Discussions on how understanding the bioactive-nutrition-genomic nexus can inform public health strategies for healthy aging.

Keywords: nutrigenomics, genetic factors, human health, personalized nutrition, dietary factors, age-related disorders, oxidative stress
